Stockholm, June 10, 2008 – From June 10th to 12th, Swedish services and systems development company ISD Technologies presents and demonstrates its new advanced simulation and training system for decision makers and operators representing both air and ground forces, during the international ITEC exhibition, dedicated to defense training, simulation and education.

This is the first time the prestigious European ITEC conference and exhibition, covering defense with a focus on simulation and training, takes place in Sweden, with visitors from 45 countries.

“The ITEC conference and exhibition is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our unique system and, moreover, this opportunity also confirms that our system for simulation and training is very competitive on an international market. During the exhibition the audience can follow closely what happens when a pilot, a fighter controller, a forward air controller and ground troop personal together are rehearsing real missions. Usually, when we have attended fairs like this, we have been the only exhibitor showing live demonstrations”, says Lars Jonsson, Sales Director and Executive Vice President of ISD Technologies.

Nowadays, modern military operations often involve members from several different countries and military branches. In order to get the highest possible effect of an operation while keeping a high level of security for its own staff and third parties, simultaneous simulation and training for different operators and military levels is essential. Most simulation and training systems on the market only support simulation and training of individual roles, which precludes effective co-training. A modern simulation and training system must be able to offer training for several roles and different situations. Only then all the staff involved in a military operation can be prepared for situations that may arise in real action.

World leader in simulation and co-training
ISD Technologies is currently the only company on the market that supplies a complete simulation and training system that is able to support the entire chain of command. ISD's simulation and training system makes it possible for decision makers and tactical operators like for example, ground troop commanders, fighter controllers, pilots and forward air controllers to practice their tasks and ability under realistic conditions, in real time.

One of the main benefits of having military personnel at all levels practice their tasks in realtime, together under realistic conditions, is the possibility to enable a safe and cost-effective way for the military to minimize the risk of exposing a third party or its own staff to danger, when pursuing a real military operation.

“The unique thing about our system is that, unlike our competitors, we have developed a simulation of the armed forces, focusing on co-training of all functions instead of only simulation and training of a specific role. By training together in realistic situations, in an environment that mimic the reality, all military personnel being involved, can develop and practice their tactics and experience firsthand what it is like to be in a real military operation”, says Lars Jonsson.

The ability to pause the simulation, at will, and analyze the data in near real time, or rewind and repeat a section - makes the simulation and training system of ISD Technologies one of the best educational simulation and training systems on the market. ISD's simulation and training systems are configured for any function, type of mission or roles, such as training: Close Air Support, Fighter Controllers, Forward Air Controllers and tactical pilot training.

The system platform is based on commercial software and hardware based on PC and Microsoft Server products. All ISD systems and software are proprietary and written in the programming languages C++ and C #. ISD Technologies customers include Swedish Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
