ISD´s AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SIMULATOR is a new, modern and user
friendly system based on the latest technological achievements. The
simulator fulfills the Eurocontrol requirements and can be used for
basic training (ICAO 051-054 courses) as well as advanced training. The
simulator can be used for TWR (2D and 3D, 120-360 degrees), APP, ACC
radar and Non radar training.
A UNIQUE PART IS CREATING EXERCISES AND SCENARIOS, where large effort
has been made for easy and user friendly operation. Experience from our
users states that it only takes a few minutes to learn how to create an
exercise, scenario or new air space.
THE SIMULATOR CAN BE USED FOR PART TASK TRAINING on a stand-alone
laptop or advanced ATC training with a number of sectors working
together. By using separate domains during basic training, each trainee
can practice separately in their own air space.
DELIVERED WITH GENERIC OR TAILOR MADE AIRSPACE - Both are possible
based on customer needs. The system can also be delivered with ICAO
standard exercise package for the 051-054 courses.
ANALYTICAL
TOOLS ARE ESSENTIAL for simulation and training systems in order to
optimize training effect and cost effectiveness. All exercises
performed by the students can be recorded and stored, with presentation
and voice communication synchronized. An exercise can be stopped at any
time, rewound,replayed or re-recorded from any position.
THE FLEXIBILITY OF ISD´S AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SIMULATOR allows for
customer specific settings. For instance, any kind of strip format can
be created. |

THE ATC SIMULATOR consists of the following main modules and functionality:
THE EXERCISE PREPARATION tool enables the user to create
exercises in a quick and easy way with limited amount of training. The
state of the art graphical user interface provides easy drag-and-drop
functions for ircrafts, runways, fixes, VORs, NDBs, SIDs and STARs.
THE PSEUDO PILOT POSITION enables operation for effective
handling of up to 12 aircraft at the same time on one station. The
system automatically generates pilot reports and aircraft messages,
allowing the pilot to operate in a fully digital paperless environment.
THE RADAR POSITION contains functionality used in a modern
ATC system such as vector drawing features, STCA, loss of separation
alarm, hijacking etc. The system provides functions for non radar
training of procedural Approach Control and Area Control. The radar
situation can also be displayed in a 3D view, as a pedagogical tool to
improve the students understanding of the air situation.
THE TOWER 3D module can be delivered with various hardware
solutions, such as front projection, back projection or large flat
screens. Depending on solution and customer needs, visualization is
possible with 120-360 degrees field-of-view.
